Explorers Program
Idaho BaseCamp and Far and Wise Partner to Provide Outdoor Adventure Education
for Grades 2-4.

Idaho Basecamp and Far and Wise are collaborating to co-fund and staff a program that allows students in grades 2-4 to engage in outdoor adventure education and enrichment programming. Each week, students will visit the Idaho Basecamp Bellevue Campus for a three-hour enrichment program. They will learn about animals, plants, and the importance of environmental stewardship and conservation. They will also participate in art, play, and other activities that promote developmental growth, cooperation, and respect for self, others, and the environment.

The program is designed to grow with the students so that they can continue to learn and explore the natural world as they get older. In the early grades, students will focus on basic concepts such as animal habitats and plant identification. As they get older, they will learn more complex topics such as ecology and climate change. They will also have the opportunity to participate in more challenging activities, such as backpacking and mountain biking.

This partnership is an important step in both organizations' missions to provide all children with the opportunity to thrive. Idaho Basecamp believes that all children can achieve their dreams, given equitable access to resources.

Through this partnership, Idaho Basecamp and Far and Wise will work together to:
-
Provide students with hands-on learning experiences in the natural world
-
Teach students about the importance of environmental stewardship
-
Promote the development of individual and cooperative skills
-
Help students build self-esteem and confidence

We are grateful to Far and Wise for their commitment to making this program possible. We believe that this partnership will create a lasting impact on the lives of many children.
