**Backpacking 202

Ages: 13-15

A two-night backpacking trip for adventurous MAT campers! We spend a day checking out our gear, getting to know each other, and of course, going for a swim on Monday, then put on our packs for a backpacking trip from Tuesday to Thursday! Backpacking 202 doesn’t race through the miles: we take time for side trips without our packs, swimming (or sometimes summer sledding!) when we can, and enjoying each other’s company around the fire. Campers will leave knowing how to use backcountry gear and hike with a pack, how to find a spot and set up camp, and the seven principles of Leave No Trace. And, they will come back with great memories and ready for a long shower!

Please note: You must be able to hike 3-4 miles to participate.
