Build their Inner BaseCamp.
A nonprofit organization rooted in the Wood River Valley, Idaho BaseCamp helps develop resilience, confidence, and connection in youth through adventure, exploration, and intentional play in the outdoors.
A Compass for Life.

External influences like sophisticated algorithms, commercial interests, and societal pressures are competing more than ever these days for kids’ attention and identities. At Idaho BaseCamp, our outdoor adventure education programs help kids discover their Inner BaseCamp—their internal compass that guides their decisions.
This compass is centered around four core values: Respect, Courage, Personal Responsibility, and Connection.
When our programs end, the journey continues—kids carry their Inner BaseCamp with them, a strength no trend can shake and no screen can rival.

“The magic of IBC is that children learn about the wilderness through play. I have seen through the experience of so many children, including my own, that it builds confidence, and most importantly, a powerful affinity with Nature.”

"IBC has always taught our kids great values but I really could see this summer how the new responsibilities of taking care of little kids really helped them build confidence and mature. They also just love being part of the IBC community.
